1. Capital City- Capital is the epitome of bars in downtown Milledgeville. From its booming speakers and live DJ on the weekends, this bar will show you a good time every day. Also, multiple different bars within the building make drinks an ease to order. Be careful, though! Capital charges a $10 minimum on credit cards, so be sure to order a round of drinks for your friends before closing out.
2. Chops- Located 15 feet below Capital is a small bar named 119 Chops. This bar offers a fun environment, especially for younger college students. With seating and multiple different TVs, this bar is often visited to watch a football game or a fight night. Do your best to avoid this bar around 12:30, as there is minimum to move even an inch in this crowded bar.
3. Velvet- Contrary to Chops is The Velvet Elvis, located just a block away from Chops and Capital. Velvet offers a different layout but similar scene for college students: a fun environment for younger students. However, Velvet offers a second floor with a smaller bar upstairs for students to get away from everyone downstairs. Look out for cops sitting right out of Velvet once you walk outside, as they like to hangout here and look for underage drinkers.
4. Aubri Lanes- Aubri attracts older students, as the bar is restricted to students 21 years and older. The scene in Aubri Lanes is much more relaxed than other bars, offering a quieter scene for older students to get away from the mess of downtown and have some drinks with friends. Make good friends with the bartenders or you will get charged high prices for drinks in this classy bar.
5. The Brick- Much more famous for its delicious pizza and wings, The Brick gets looked down on for its late night scene. However, each time you wander into this famous place, you are never disappointed. The Brick offers a lot of seating and big TVs to watch any sporting event and 2 different bars for crowded nights. However, most people tend to stick with the above four bars for late nights.
